The Extech AUT500 Automotive MultiMate was designed specifically for automotive technicians, DIYers, and modders who demand a tough meter that’s waterproof and shock resistant. The AUT500 Automotive MultiMeter delivers every multimeter function you need to effectively troubleshoot automotive and fleet electrical and electronic systems. Designed to withstand harsh environments and usage, the meter’s rugged, double-molded housing is IP67-rated (waterproof and dustproof) as well as drop-tested to 6 feet. For shade-tree mechanics or crews doing roadside fleet repairs, using a DMM outdoors during harsh conditions is no longer a concern no matter the weather.

Marine-Ready
As a waterproof tool geared for engine and DC electrical repair, the AUT500 is also useful for marine mechanics who routinely repair engines from small outboards to large ships. Since the meter is waterproof and floats, it’s easy to recover if dropped off a boat, pier or dock, into water. The meter is ready to resume working once retrieved. The Automotive MultiMate offers a wide array of must-have multimeter measurements geared for automotive work including RPM measurement using the inductive pickup, as well as duty cycle, pulse width and dwell angle measurement. A CAT-IV 600-volt safety rating and 20 amp input rating permits testing of nearly all automotive circuits. In addition, the large illuminated LCD displays a 4-digit readout (to 4,000 counts).

Numerous FeaturesEssential DMM functions make the AUT500 a versatile meter for general AC and DC test and measurement use beyond automotive. Turn to capabilities such as frequency and continuity/diode functions. You also get convenient, one-button access to frequently used functions: min/max, data hold, and relative hold. The AUT500 also features Auto Power Off (with disable) to conserve battery life. In addition to electrical diagnostics, you can also take temperature measurements using the included Type K bead wire probe.
