Extech AUT80 Automotive Current Tester Kit, 80-Amp

The Extech ATU 80 automotive current tester checks up to 80 amps without breaking the circuit. Mini, ATC, and Maxi blade connectors plug into the fuse block. It features a measuring range of 80 amps/48 VDC (10 seconds, max) with 0.1 amp resolution and (±2 percent + 2 digits) accuracy. Results are displayed on a 3.5-digit LCD with bargraph.

Operating Instructions

1. Turn the vehicle ignition OFF. 2. Determine if the fixed maxi‐blade (7) or one of the adaptors (mini‐blade or ATC‐blade) will be used. 3. If necessary, connect an adaptor (mini‐blade or ATC‐ blade) to the maxi‐blades by sliding the adaptor down over the maxi‐blades until it locks in place. Use caution as the blades can cause injury if mishandled. 4. Remove the fuse from the vehicle’s fuse block for the circuit under test. 5. Plug the test blades into the fuse box (where the fuse was removed). 6. If maxi‐blade fuses are being used, insert the removed maxi‐blade fuse into the fuse jack (6) on the tester cable. 7. If a mini‐blade or ATC‐blade adaptor was used, insert the shorting plug blade into the fuse jack (6) on the tester cable. The shorting plug is the supplied amber color plug. 8. Before continuing please note that tests should be limited to a 10 second period. Longer tests could damage meter. 9. Press the meter’s Power button (3) to switch it ON. 10. Press the ZERO button (5) to zero the displayed reading. 11. Power the circuit under test up to 10 seconds only and read the measured DC current on the LCD bargraph and display digits (1). 12. Press the HOLD/PEAK button (4) momentarily to freeze the displayed reading (the HOLD icon will appear). Press HOLD/PEAK again to exit (HOLD icon switches OFF). 13. Press and hold the HOLD/PEAK button to place the meter in PEAK mode (the meter captures the quick in‐rush current peak). The PEAK icon will appear. Press and hold the HOLD/PEAK button again to return to the normal operating mode (PEAK icon switches OFF). Note that the HOLD and PEAK modes can operate simultaneously. 14. When finished press Power (3) to switch the meter OFF. 15. WARNING! The fuse blades may become hot during testing. Allow to cool before removing. Do not test > 10 seconds

Model AUT10

Digital Tire Pressure Gauge

Tthe Extech AUT10 high accuracy tire pressure gauge. This device checks automobile tire pressure in psi, kPa, and Bar units and displays the results on the backlit LCD. The LED tip light (3) helps locate tire valve stems in dimly lit areas. OPERATION 1. Remove the tire’s valve stem cap. 2. Press the Power/Units button (1) to switch the gauge ON 3. Push the nozzle (2) onto the tire’s valve stem. Be sure to orient the nozzle straight onto the valve stem ensuring a good seal. Hissing sounds indicate a poor seal (air is escaping) 4. Keep the gauge in position until the LCD (4) reading stabilizes and then remove the gauge from the valve stem. 5. The pressure reading will remain on the backlit LCD (4) until another measurement is taken or until the gauge switches OFF 6. Use the Power/Units button (1) to change the pressure units 7. The gauge switches OFF automatically after 90 seconds of inactivity 8. Replace the batteries if the LCD does not switch ON. The battery compartment (5) is located on the rear of the gauge

Extech AUT10 SAFETY Please observe manufacturer’s recommended tire pressure ratings.  Do not rely on the gauge if readings are unusually high/low or if the gauge appears damaged.  To clean, wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent; do not use abrasives or solvents

Extech DC400 Mini DC Clamp Meter

The compact Extech DC400 is a very simple-to-use, mini DC clamp meter with a right-sized jaw designed to reach in small areas while providing 10 mA resolution and very low-current sensitivity. This CAT II-rated clamp meter can be used in essential current-related troubleshooting applications in automotive, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment, marine, and motorcycle repair.

Key Functionality

Depending on a given job, you can select from two DC current ranges: 40 amp and 400 amp. The 40-amp range with 10 mA resolution is optimized for finding problems where low current variances would be missed by standard clamp meters. The current-only functionality of this clamp meter means you twist the dial to one of two ranges and clamp your wire to measure — twist-and-go — no additional configuration is needed. Whether you are troubleshooting a truck's alternator or a yacht's genset. The two DC ranges and go-anywhere 1.2-inch (30mm) jaw opening is compact enough to fit in tight locations, such as inside engine bays and instrument panels. The useful Data Hold function freezes the display while the one-touch zero function makes it easy to perform relative measurements. The 4-digit (4,000 count) readout is easy to read, and Auto Power Off preserves battery life.
