<p>The HT PV-ISOTEST is an instrument designed specifically for the verification, maintenance and safety of photovoltaic systems up to 1500VDC.</p>

<p>PV-ISOTEST represents a real innovation in the panorama of PV verification and testing instrumentation. PV-ISOTEST measures the i<strong>nsulation resistance of a single module, a string or even an entire photovoltaic field up to 1,500 V DC according to IEC/EN62446 standard.</strong></p>
<p>Traditional insulation meters would require a DC-rated switch-box to short-circuit the positive and negative terminals of the module/string/PV field under test. With PV-ISOTEST the use of any external device is not required, PV-ISOTEST carries out the measurements in full autonomy and self-sufficiency.</p>
<p><strong>In addition, through the new GFL (Ground Fault Locator) function, PV-ISOTEST indicates the position of any poor insulation on a string of the photovoltaic system, due, for example, to water or humidity leakage.</strong></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3>HT Instruments PV-ISOTEST Multifunction Tester for Photovoltaic system &#8211; Photovoltaic technology is changing</h3>
<p>The design and production of installations increasingly takes into consideration the increase in rated voltage, which allows for the realization of strings up to 30% longer, for a higher generated power and, at the same time, uses a smaller number of components, which allows for the reduction of energy loss (BoS) up to 30%, while improving profitability.</p>
<p>In this way, an increasing number of photovoltaic installations are realized with a rated voltage close to 1500VDC, with a view to obtaining the maximization of all the relevant benefits, while falling, at the regulatory level, in the classification of Low Voltage systems.</p>
<p>Consequently, the probability of a stress on each part of the photovoltaic system generates the need of having suitable and highly performing tools for an accurate and appropriate verification of these new parameters.</p>
<p>This is why HT Italia has created and developed PV ISOTEST, the first and only instrument suitable to carry out, on a photovoltaic system up to 1500VDC, the most important safety checks required by standard IEC/EN62446-1, and to guarantee the quality performance a professional nowadays considers as highly indispensable.</p>

<h3>Why True RMS?</h3>
<p><span style="font-size: 90%;">Measuring instruments for AC are divided into two types: </span></p>

<li><span style="font-size: 90%;">AVERAGE-VALUE meters: instruments measuring the value of the sole wave at fundamental frequency (50 or 60 Hz). </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 90%;">TRMS (True Root Mean Square) VALUE meters</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 90%;">True RMS instruments measuring the TRMS value of the quantity being tested. With a perfectly sinusoidal wave, the two families of instruments provide identical results. With distorted waves, instead, the readings shall differ.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 90%;">Average-value meters provide the RMS value of the sole fundamental wave; TRMS meters, instead, provide the RMS value of the whole wave, including harmonics (within the instruments bandwidth).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 90%;">Therefore, by measuring the same quantity with instruments from both types, the values obtained are identical only if the wave is perfectly sinusoidal. In case it is distorted, TRMS meters shall provide higher values than the values read by average-value meters.</span></p>

<p>The HT Italia Line Splitter separates the Active (Line) from the neutral and ground wires on a standard 240VAC outlet allowing current measurements to be made with a current clamp. Without the Line Splitter, the current clamp measures the load current going in both directions, effectively cancelling the measurement.</p>
<p>The HT Line Splitter has a standard measurement section and a x10 multiplier section for use with higher ranged clamp meters.</p>
<p>The HT Italia HA000951 Line Splitter can also be used to make voltage checks safely with standard multimeter probes.</p>

<p>The HT ITALIA I-V500w 1500V I-V Curve Tracer allows <strong>field detection of I-V Curve</strong> and of the main characteristic parameters both of a single module and of strings of modules for PV installations up to a maximum of 1500V and 10A or 1000V and 15A.</p>
<p>For measuring I-V Curve, I-V500w manages an <strong>internal database of the modules, which can be updated at any time by the user</strong> and comparison between the measured data with the rated values allows immediately evaluating whether the string or the module fulfills the efficiency parameters declared by the manufacturer. I-V Curve can be measured also by decentralizing measurement of irradiation and temperature by using the optional remote unit <strong>SOLAR02</strong>, using the radio frequency connection (RF) with the master unit.</p>
<p>Also for HT ITALIA I-V500w , <strong>the display at the end of the test of I-V Curve</strong> is a clear indication about the compliance with the specifications declared by the panel manufacturer.</p>
