HT ITALIA Mercury Thermal Imaging Digital Multimeter
With the HT MERCURY you carry out all measurements normally performed with multimeters and IR cameras.
- The built-in IR camera allows you to simply and quickly detect hot spots caused by electrical problems or malfunctions.Once repair works are completed, you can check whether the problem was solved or not
- The multimeter function allows you to troubleshoot installations, measuring voltage and current.
- Log to my internal memory the trend of voltage and current with selectable sampling rate. The data is saved and downloaded onto the PC IR images, measurements and data recordings allow you to generate professional reports.
- Connect via Bluetooth to mobile devices. In this way, the operator can set the instrument on the measuring spot, move away from a possible dangerous area and read measures on the tablet/smartphone through the App HT MERCURY.
- CAT IV 600V/CAT III 1000V Safety Rating allows you to use the Mercury in industrial and domestic environments.
- It can be connected to a wide range of (rigid and flexible) clamp transducers for measuring AC TRMS, DC, AC+DC current.
- It can be connected to a wide range of external K-type probes to measure temperature.
- Thanks to the Mercury’s colour display, detecting possible problems through a thermographic image is very easy and quick.
- The two rechargeable Li-ION batteries provided allow for a long continuous working duration.
- The Mercury is portable, compact and rugged and also dust-tight and protected against water ingress to IP65.

Why True RMS?
Measuring instruments for AC are divided into two types:
- AVERAGE-VALUE meters: instruments measuring the value of the sole wave at fundamental frequency (50 or 60 Hz).
- TRMS (True Root Mean Square) VALUE meters
True RMS instruments measuring the TRMS value of the quantity being tested. With a perfectly sinusoidal wave, the two families of instruments provide identical results. With distorted waves, instead, the readings shall differ.
Average-value meters provide the RMS value of the sole fundamental wave; TRMS meters, instead, provide the RMS value of the whole wave, including harmonics (within the instruments bandwidth).
Therefore, by measuring the same quantity with instruments from both types, the values obtained are identical only if the wave is perfectly sinusoidal. In case it is distorted, TRMS meters shall provide higher values than the values read by average-value meters.
